Allow students to build on their vocabulary
Place a number of flash cards face up on the floor in front of your students.
Have the students sit in a circle around the cards. The teacher then says, "Put your hands on your
head, put your hands on your shoulders, put your hands on your knees", etc. Obviously the order can
be changed, and new body parts introduced. You will need to mimic these commands at first
so the student can recognise the meanings. Then
suddenly, say the name of the flash card!
The first student to snap the correct card gets to keep this card. The winner is the one who has the
most cards at the end.
It's a good idea to get students to count out their cards aloud to the rest of the class once the game
ends.
This is a great game, and reinforces counting, body parts and new vocabulary learning from the flash cards.
The students will have fun, without realising how much they are learning. :-)
