Let the race begin!
Kids love relay races, and this game offers them a chance to play a relay and get great practice with their
spelling words at the same time.
Divide the students into groups or rows. The first person in the group has a piece of paper on their
desk. The teacher will call out a spelling word from a list and say "GO".
At the signal, the first person writes that word as quickly as possible and
passes the paper to the next person in the group. This continues until everyone
has written the word on the paper. The first team finished gets one point for
every word spelt correctly in that group. This gives the students
the initiative to work quickly, but accurately. Students will love this game!
