![]() | Winning cover letters In my cover letters, I like to use bullet points to grab the eye. Specifically, I like to take the requirements or preferred skills from the posting and address how I fit each one on a point-by-point basis. This way, it's easy to screen me in instead of screening me out! |

![]() | Re: Winning cover letters The main purpose of a cover letter is to explain your life in a nutshell without the details. Eg: "Currently I am working at Sunny English School, and have been doing so for the past 2 years. Prior to that I worked in hospitality for a few years after graduating from a Bachelor of Arts at Superb University." A cover letter really should be very brief and small paragraphs. Don't make the common mistake of writing a huge slab of text. The purpose of a cover letter is to arouse interest so hopefully the employer will then take a look at your resume and call you up for an interview. |

| Senior Member ![]() | Re: Winning cover letters I just write, "gimme the job or I'll kill you, and your wife, have my way with your daughter(s) and kill the rest of your family including, but not limited to, your cat, dog and budgie. I've found that grabs their attention and really gives them the urgent desire to give me a quality job with outstanding benefits, including salary.... hehehehehehehe, not really. I'd have ta be more than just a lil bit crazy to write that, but ahhhh, what a nice thought huh? Nuff said or the PSB here'll hunt me down and deport me, bye y'all! ![]()
