![]() | Re: Hi from Melbourne Thanks! Anywhere to recommend? We've been doing a bit a research but China's so big Shanghai was almost a default option. We thought it would be easier to start out in a big city. |

![]() | Re: Hi from Melbourne Definitely better to start out in a big city due to the bigger supply of jobs on offer. But I prefer the more rural setting. I was in Beijing, but just too big for me and lack of air quality. You could always look for a job before you arrive. This is quite common for those heading to China. Especially schools outside the big cities are always keen to snap up teachers before they arrive.

![]() | Re: Hi from Melbourne Thanks for the response. Good advice! We've been browsing the job sites recently - so many options! We'll definitely start looking outside the square (or big city) a bit now. |

The cuisine is fantastic, nightlife is great and Guangdong has many places for weekend trips. Good luck in wherever and whatever you choose to do!

Shanghai is cool, definitely not China but cool in its own way, once you have lived in Shanghai for a while you can tackle anywhere in China. Feel free to drop me a line if you want some part-time work. |
