Uganda free secondary education

Uganda began offering free secondary education to 250,000 students on Monday, which the government said would double the number of children continuing on in school.

The scheme means all 380,000 of the pupils who passed their primary school exams - about 90% of them - would go on to attend secondary school.

It's a pro-poor programme that will help rural communities develop, so you can have people who are educated, who can plan and who can participate in economic activities.
