![]() | TESOL Certificate - illlegal and legal countries This question has prob been asked numerous times but; I have a friend who wants to teach in Asia but she is getting a Cambridge TESOL certificate. Where can she teach legally and where can she teach illegally? I know that Korea is out of the question... Cheers all, Matt Last edited by gfell; Wed 29-Aug-07 at 12:01 PM. |

![]() | Re: TESOL Certificate - illlegal and legal countries Just to clarify, do you mean your friend who has a Cambridge TESOL certificate but NO Bachelor degree? From reading your above, it sounds like you are referring to the fact that holding a Cambridge TESOL certificate is illegal in some countries, which would be rather absurd to think this.

She doesn't have a degree - she has a Cambridge TESOL certificate. Many countries wont let you in to teach without a degree and if you teach solely on a certificate you are illegally teaching e.g. Korea So are there countries that acknowledge a TESOL certificate as a way of entering into a teaching position? | |

![]() | Re: TESOL Certificate - illlegal and legal countries With a TESOL certificate and a 2-year Diploma it is possible to get a work visa in Taiwa, Japan and China as the main countries. I have known and seen people do this, but you need a minimum 2-year Diploma and an employer that is willing to take you on. A TESL certificate alone though wont get you far.
