Question TEFL, TESL, PELT TEFL...totally lost!!

Hi all,

Firstly, this is a brilliant website for info on teaching programs...especially for totally confused souls like me !!

I am a post graduate in communications from India and totally fed up with my choice of career. Was exploring teaching courses and got a lot of stuff on TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, etc etc. They sound real interesting, fun and the testimonies from ppl make the career sound satisfying.

The ques is....has any Indian done this course from India? If one wants to go abroad to teach, how difficult is it to get a work visa..sound like supply > demand...

In India, CELTA is offered by British council and TEFL/TESOL/PELT TEFL is offered by tefl international. Would you suggest the latter? Think CELTA is only for teachers....what is the difference between PELT TEFL and TEFL..???

Pls do help !! advice, info, sharing of experiences....anything

Testimonies

Testimonies are a great thing right? Companies only ever show positive and edited testimonies. Best when waying up a product is to ignore testimonies. Look at the facts and what's included. Ask your questions in forums such as these to real people.

I really don't think it matters what teacher certificate you have. Be it a TEFL, TESL, CELTA or whatever.

By the way, being from India will make it tough to get a visa when teaching abroad. I haven't met any Indian teachers during my years of teaching. Sorry for the bad news. Sometimes your accent is very hard to understand.

Maybe you should look at online teaching or something.
