![]() | Hi from Korea! I wonder if anyone has complete an online tefl course? I'm contemplating taking a tefl course as my school will then pay me extra if I have this certificate. So far, I like the i-to-i tefl course. Has anyone done this course and if so, would you recommend it? Took a look at the ICAL Tefl course, but the colors just spooked me out... hahaha ![]() |

![]() | See what you mean by the colours on the ICAL Telf page... freaky stuff... Wonder what they were thinking with choosing those colours of green. Have done the i-to-i tefl course, and the support was excellent. I also think it's the most popular tefl course online. |

![]() | The TEFL Course I did was a weekend course in Sydney run by i-to-i. Did learn a lot, and the hands on teaching practice was especially useful. If anyone has the time, I would suggest doing a weekend course. If you are working already overseas, then it will be quite hard to find a TEFL certficate course locally. I would recommend doing a TEFL course before flying out. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are freelance IELTS Examiner positions available for teachers based in various cities in China, but they require "An Internationally Recognized TEFL Certificate." Anyone have any ideas as to which organizations would be deemed "Internationally Acceptable?" |

![]() | Internationally Recognized TEFL Certificate??? I doubt there is an internationally recognized TEFL Certificate. Any organization can offer a TEFL certificate. If you go to the various TEFL websites, none of them list that their courses as internationally recognized. |

![]() | International Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language If you go to http://www.teflonline.com you will notice on their front page they claim that you receive An International Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language aka.. TEFL. The word 'international' is pretty lightly used. Why don't you contact them and ask about this claim of theirs? |

![]() | Re: TEFL courses Perhaps by stating 'internationally recognised' they mean 'at least to certificate level'. I did a basic TESOL course with a company called Teach International and they are fantastic. The initial one week course must be done in Australia, NZ or Canada before you go and then you have three months to do an online component. This basic course I did can be upgraded to Cert III or Cert IV with supervised observation and practise teaching (both can be done before you go or overseas) and some extra online components. Most serious employers here in Hong Kong (who pay decent salaries and offer good conditions) will require a TESOL to certificate level. If you intend to teach ESL back home, in Australia for example, you are required to have Cert IV level TESOL certification. |
