![]() | Montessori Courses I would like to hear from anyone who has done Montessori teacher training. I am thinking about becoming a Montessori teacher and it seems that AMI Montessori Diplomas are the most recognised worldwide. I am originally from Australia, but would like my qualification to be accepted abroad. Has anyone done AMI training in India? I have heard that you can save quite a bit by doing your training there - in Australia the AMI training costs $13000 (AUD). |

It'd take ages for it to pay for itself if you only earned RMB4000/mth here in China, in an out of the way little place. Best stick to big cities where the earning potential is good and you can make it pay for itself much much quicker!

![]() | Re: Montessori Courses So what do you want to do after that $13K Montessori teacher training course? You should really ask yourself is it worth the expense? How serious are you at making teaching your career path? A $300 online TESL course would be fine for most teachers heading abroad. Even if you want to one day teach in a university, then the Montessori teacher training course still wont be enough I'm afraid. University jobs mainly want their teachers to hold a degree in Education or something related. |

![]() | Re: Montessori Courses I am currently teaching children in Hong Kong. I have a BA and TESOL Certification and am starting a Postgraduate Diploma of Education in February. The Montessori Diploma would allow me to have a more focused method of teaching to children in a much broader environment than just ESL - especially in Australia. Apparently the AMI course in India is around $770AUD - much cheaper than the same course would be if I did it in Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, the UK or the USA. I would like to hear from graduates of the Montessori Diploma for their feedback on the course. |
