Question Introductory information required

hi,
My name's ben(18), I have recently finished high school(2005) and have been very interested in the prospect of travelling and teaching. I recieved an op of 10 and I would be incredibly thankful to anyone who can help me out with a couple of questions;
1. Is a degree of any kind required in order to take a position as teacher?
2. Is age a major factor? (I'm a mature, hard working 18 yr. old, and wish to start teaching in different countries A.S.A.P.)

This work is right down my allie, I spent most of high school teaching my peers, and english has always been a strong point for me and i honesty cant think of anything else i want to do with my life right now.
thank you for you time and help,
yours truly,
Benjiman

Exclamation Best advice - go to Uni first!

Hi Benjiman.

My best advice would be for you to go to Uni before travelling the world to teach. Go to Uni with your friends and enjoy the 3 years or so. Trust me, it's so much harder to go back to Uni as a mature age student when all your friends are working and have families. As you get older, you become busier in life.

In regards to teaching English abroad, very few places will touch you because you have no experience and no university degree. If you don't believe me, try sending out your resume to 10 different schools and see if you get a reply. Even if you are lucky to get a job now, you will be paid peanuts due to your lack of experience and qualifications.

All the best!
