i have BACHELOR DEGREE IN DESIGN. .what TESOL course (if any) do i need to teach o/s

I am from Australia

I am wondering what my options are. I have a bachelors university degree in Product design. Does anyone know if i can teach english in countries without having to do the TESOL course ?

Or perhaps i get credit for having a degree and only do a section of a TESOL course ? Would anyone know which parts of TESOL i need to finish to qualify for basically anywhere available, and for adults and business ?

You can start teaching right away without even doing a TESOL course. There are many teachers without this qualification. It merely opens more doors for you. Take a look at the jobs ads and apply to the ones where they make no mention of a TESOL / TEFL certificate required.

You can not do part of a TESOL course. Those offering these courses do not have such an option. If you want only a brief introduction to teaching, then try an online TEFL course.

Whilst it is true that some schools will be happy to employ anyone remember that wherever you go the less you are asked in terms of qualifications, the less you'll get paid and the more unreliable your contract will be. Bear in mind that a teacher with a TESL/TEFL Certificate will always be preferred to a teacher without one.

Being certified will make you more marketable and it will also, and perhaps more importantly, prepare you for the job.

A quality online courses will give you the basic tools to enter a new profession with confidence, knowing that when you walk in a classroom you will be able to make a difference.

It really depends on what city/country you want to go to. Some governments state that to get a visa you need a degree + TEFL, this is only usually for the major cities. I do agree however a TEFL is not necessary for teaching but it definitely opens more doors, I know for a fact that they are very highly looked upon in China.
