![]() | Ways of Learning and Teaching a Language - Inductive / Discovery Approach Inductive / Discovery Approach This is rather a new approach to language learning in which the students discovers the language by them self. The student provides the input (often 'authentic') from which relevant parts of the language and rules are extracted. The teacher acts as a facilitator and as a check for false hypotheses. The idea behind this approach is that the student will understand and retain more of the language if they have been involved in discovering it.
