Grammar Translation The Grammar Translation strategy has been used in schools throughout the history of language teaching. This strategy concentrates on teaching students the rules and basics of a language, and undertaking written exercises to practise the structure and translating both into and out of the target language. The idea is to teach students thoroughly on the way the target language works.
