![]() | Teaching Certificates My TEFL Teacher Training Course Knowing what TEFL course is best suited to your needs can be difficult to choose. I admit I too was confused when trying to decide which of the many TEFL courses to choose from. Anyway, after recommendation from a friend, I decided to enrol in a TEFL course with i-to-i. I participated in the 20 hour weekend and 40 hour online course and was very impressed with both courses. The weekend course was AU$545 and the online course AU$450. Having my TEFL certificate has opened many doors for me, and I'm eager to use my new found teaching knowledge. The 20 hour Weekend TEFL course provided me with practical experience during a two day interactive seminar. There were 12 of us in the class and we went over:
The 40 hour Online TEFL course is designed for you to take the course when you have time, and build your knowledge of the best methods to teach to any class. The course takes the new teacher through all the important issues:
Tutoring is provided so your work is monitored. Most importantly, the course provides a wealth of examples, activities, and exercises that can be used in your English classes. After all this, I then enrolled in the 20 hour Grammar Awareness Module. I recommend this module if you want to teach adults. It gives you competency in teaching English grammar. It also has the added benefit of making your certificate a Diploma by adding this additional 20 hours of study! The Diploma is a big plus, because in Australia, many Diploma courses are 1 or 2 years. Also, some countries issue a work visa if you can show a TEFL Diploma. My instructor was extremely professional, and the support the school gives to both instructor and student can only be commended. All the best with your studies, and I hope this background information has been useful for those looking to undertake a TEFL course. Anthony T. L. (Soon to be English Teacher - maybe Hong Kong??) | Thanks for your question. All of our courses include an in-depth section on finding work and useful publications as well as web sites that you may find interesting. We also guide you through the process of applying for a TEFL position, including information on the different types of institution you could work in, how much you can expect to earn and what questions you should be asking any prospective employer. We also offer a teaching placement service in a reputable school or language institute for which there is a charge. This guarantees you a competitive local salary, and for some placements you'll also get accommodation, an end-of-contract bonus and the cost of your return flights home. We currently offer these positions in China, Turkey, Poland, South Korea and Thailand. If you have any further questions about the i-to-i TEFL courses please do not hesitate to contact the team: http://www.teflcourses.com.au or post another message on here. AJ |
