Concentrate on Recognition and Comprehension

Teachers in the past have not really thought hard enough how to help those students whose primary goal is reading.

We are seeing an increase in students whose primary goal is reading rather than speaking.

This makes sense when a student has no inclination to travel abroad or use spoken English. As the internet becomes more and more widespread, students are realising that English reading comprehension is important to surfing English websites.

Teachers should release students who want to read from the struggles of pronunciation and spoken English. If a students' goal is reading comprehension, then pronunciation and speaking practice is of little importance in the English classroom.

It's always a good idea to ask the goals and objectives of students prior to taking on a new class.
