When teaching grammar and new vocabulary to adults, there are certain methods that work better than others.

• Present grammar inductively and deductively.
• Pre-teach problem vocabulary / grammar.
• Explain vocabulary through context.
• Paraphrase.
• Use of gestures.
• Have student's guess at the meanings.
• Provide intonation practice.
• Lead student's with cues / hints.
• Challenge students's to define.
• Draw pictures on the board.
• Elicit needed structures naturally.
