english grammar man is on a distinguished road
Lightbulb Excited / Exciting and Bored / Boring etc.

We put "ed" on some verbs when we talk about how a person feels.

Example:
- I'm bored today.
- She's excited about her new job.

We put "ing" on these verbs when we talk about how other things or people make us feel.

Example:
- The movie was boring.
- Wow, that was a really exciting ride!

Here are some other verbs you can use this way:

- tired / tiring
- interested / interesting
- frightened / frightening
- moved / moving

DRILL

Can you fix the below sentences? They are all grammatically incorrect.
  • I am exciting about my new job.
  • My friend borrowed me his book.
  • I got tired of studying in junior high school. Sometimes I'd fall asleep at my desk in the middle of the night.
  • When we go abroad, my wife is interested in going to shopping.
