![]() | Classroom Management and Assessment - Voice Voice Teach students in a normal native speed. Voice should be faster as the students' English ability increases. Do not slow further for understanding when giving key directions. The teacher's voice should be loud enough to be heard by the student farthest from the teacher and no more. Some teachers may have a differing opinion regarding voice speed. Some argue that teachers should speak slower than normal in the classroom. However, this is not practiced in the real world between parents and their children. Furthermore, teaching in a slow voice wont prepare the student for encounters with native English speakers outside the classroom. Student needs to be accustomed to native speaker speed. It's important to keep voice clear at all times. |
