![]() | History of Racism The inhumane and discriminatory practices of America and Europe should not have a place in today's world. America became a diverse nation not because it was inherently great but because large numbers of guns were used, Native Americans suffered, Africans were imported as slaves and Asians were needed to do hard labor in sugar cane fields in order to make money to sustain a society that did not accept any of these people as equals. In international cities we have to realize that people of different nationalities and backgrounds are capable of achieving, and it is our duty as citizens of the world to ensure that the uncivilized practices of the past have no place in our modern world. This means that discrimination against Koreans, Chinese, Blacks etc. must come to an end. Celebrating international diversity means more than celebrating the great achievements of America and Europe: it means celebrating the achievements of women and men from all nations who work to make the world a humane place.
