![]() | Healthy Living Abroad Healthy Living when Teaching and Studying Abroad What do you base your decision on when choosing a country to teach or study in? Is it the money, the food, culture or healthy lifestyle? We all know that increasing obesity are current problems faced by many western cultures. Fast food in Japan would consist of a sushi roll (vinegared rice and fish) and green tea. Fast food in America would consist of McDonalds and coke. So which countries are the healthiest to live in? According to the Economist Pocket World in Figures, 2005, pole position is taken by Andorra with the average person living until 83.5 years old. However, there are not many English teaching jobs in Andorra, so this isn't an option for many. So, the best option would be teaching in JAPAN! Believe it or not, Japan is ranked 2nd in the world for healthy living. Stats of the world's healthiest countries:
