The Fullbright program is a US goverment program to promote mutual understanding between citizens of the US and other countries. Teachers head overseas each year to teach in over 140+ countries under the guidance of the Fulbright program.


The Fulbright program was founded in 1946 and has since placed more than 250,000 applicants.

A US and non-US Fulbright scholarship is on offer to US citizens and nationals of other countries. The Fulbright scholarship program focusses on teaching in elementary/high school positions, research, lecturing and other educational activities.

Fulbright Scholars lecture or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields ranging from journalism and urban planning to music, philosophy, business administration and zoology.

The US Fulbright Scholarship program has the following eligiblilty requirements:

• US Citizenship
• Ph.D. or equivalent
• College or University teaching experience
• Foreign language proficiency
• Sound physical and mental health
