My Dream Teaching Job!

I've just landed my dream teaching job! Free accommodation, return airfares, BIG bonuses, top $$ and teaching only 15 hours a week. Watch out Taiwan, here I come!

Well perhaps it's not such a dream after all.

Sometimes it's hard for new teachers to know what's a reasonable package and reputable school.

It is highly recommended to research that dream teaching job before accepting.

School Checklist:

• Search in Google for "school name" scam or "school name" blacklist.
• Ask your school for the contact details of a current teacher.
• Ask your school for the contact details of a ex teacher.
• Post questions in forums asking the general teaching community for their feedback.
• Does the school have a website? If so, how long has it been online? Go to Whois domain name search lookup for these details. Eg: AEON Japan has been online since 1995!

It's well worth researching a school before committing yourself for the next 1 year. Time spent now can give you peace of mind or save you from unecessary hardship.
