![]() | Re: what's the best Asian country to work for? Simplistic life style and all that is fine... but would you be happy with earning less than USD1000 per month? If so, then you may enjoy it if you can get a good school with good facilities. If you head to a south-east Asian country to teach, don't expect first-class facilities and high pay. I would rather teach in Japan, Korea or Taiwan and then head to a south-east Asian country for a holiday only. I have loans to pay back home, so cannot sell myself short. |

![]() | Re: what's the best Asian country to work for? ya 1000 a month or less sounds pretty shotty. I want at least 2000 a month, but at the same time i dont have many too many loans, i mean just student loans ya know. I'm more about the experience than the money but i do still want to make good money. have you heard about germany? i hear u can make over 2000 euros/month there. |

![]() | Mongolia is great if you like... 1. Minus-your-balls temperatures for 6 months of the year 2. Stunningly gorgeous women 3. Fermented mare's milk, goat meat cooked inside its own carcass, or mutton done any one of 50+ different ways. 4. Vodka drinking games 5. Soviet beauracracy (yes, it's still lingering). Also referred to as The Soviet Hangover and Lenin Syndrome. 6. Dust storms for three months of the year. 7. Snowfall during the summer. 8. Corruption - get whatever you want - if the price is right! 9. Love songs...most of which are about horses, not women. 10. Not knowing your home address, just like everyone else who lives here. Just some of the reasons why i love it here ![]() |

![]() | Re: what's the best Asian country to work for? I'm confused at your above post Motivated. In Mogolia you said there are stunningly beautiful yet most of the love songs are about horses and not women. Very confused.... |

![]() | Re: what's the best Asian country to work for? BBrian: Enoch83 is right - Mongolians are expert horsemen, and horses are a symbol of wealth. Every July Ulaanbaatar hosts the national Naadam festival, 3 sports of wrestling, archery and horseracing. The horse 'track' is something like 15-20kms of open steppe and the riders are generally no older than 8 years old. The winning horse is worshipped like a god and songs are sung to it. A good herdsman with 100+ horses can easily identify each and every horse, and will also notice when one is missing. As for the stunning women, and why there are far fewer love songs about them - that's a question i ask myself everyday. I think it's partly because Mongol men, having never been out of their own country, don't realise what they've got, and partly because they seem to be more interested in getting hammered on vodka than paying attention to their women. Makes it a damn sight easier for me to get dates, that's for sure In UB it is very noticeable, especially in universities, private schools etc, that Mongolian women are the achievers, the ones who want a secure future. Generally speaking, my high school girls achieve far higher results than the boys. A quirk of Mongolian culture. |

Just don't work for Santis - 2 posts under blacklist and now ALL the foreign teachers there (a few good friends still suffering that place) have written a 21 PAGE letter of complaint, Should be interesting to see what happens out of that one. | |
