![]() | Teaching in Rome - Advice needed Hi, can anyone who has taught in Rome tell me when the contracts/teaching posts there typically begin, esp. for teaching Business English. Is it late Sept or early October? Someone told me they were offered a job in Rome in early September last year but didn't actually get any teaching hours until the beginning of October. Thanks for any help or advice you might have. |

![]() | School calendar in Rome, Italy Typically, the Italians take their long holidays in August. This is when mountains and beaches are crowded. Also, many Italians will go to their holiday house for this vacation time. Hence, August is definitely a bad time to head to Italy. Arrive beginning of September when schools and recruiters are busily filling teacher demands. Beginning of September is when school students head back to school in Italy. October is typically a busy time in Italy, with everyone getting ready for exams. The winter holidays start around the 16th December and last til around the 8th January. There are no public holidays in either September or October in Italy. Hope this answers your question. |
