Patong is probably the main tourist area of Phuket, Thailand. Some say that Patong is close to becoming a clone of one of the notorious entertainments sois of Bangkok. Others predicted it could be the next Pattaya. Of course all of these were conjectures, but today, even after the tsunami, those who predicted could be called "prophets," - in their own right. ![]() Patong not only became like one of the red-light sois of Bangkok, but many tell that is has far surpassed Pattaya. Currently the hub of Phuket's night entertainment, the whole strip remains alive, even long after the sun goes down. Presently, there are more or less 200:
![]() Bars are probably the most popular night destinations for many. Most of Patong's bars are small, with humble stools or niches as seats. Music is often loud, even cacophonous because of unfiltered sounds from next-door bars. But siitting in one of these bars can be fun.
