![]() | Elephant Trekking in Thailand So have you ever tried elephant trekking in Thailand? It's definitely something you must try whether you are a tourist or plan on living in Thailand. Never leave Thailand without an elephant ride. ![]() Elephant trekking is a fantastic way to see the world at a higher level - on an elephants back. A ride takes you safely through the thick jungles, rugged terrains, mountain and hill slopes and through cool valleys. I took my first elephant ride just the other day. I can't say it was all that thrilling but definitely worth the ride. Obviously elephants are very slow, so if you are a speed junky you will be disappointed. Enjoy and give it a go! |

![]() | I do not think so that elephant trekking is so enjoyable. Best thing to watch in Thailand is colourful birds. Elephants are slow & dirty. They can drop you from their back. Its better to go by foot instead on elephant. Last edited by gfell; Fri 17-Nov-06 at 08:06 PM. |

![]() | Re: Elephant Trekking in Thailand I remember going to Mae Tang Elephant Camp, enjoying an hour's elephant ride through the beautiful mountainous jungle to end up by the river, in Thailand and having a nice picnic lunch by the riverbank. I was first so scared, when I sat on the elephant but then I got courage. Have any of you had an elephant drive? |

![]() | Re: Elephant Trekking in Thailand You can have so many elephant rides in India. In many parts like Mysore, Gujarat and eastern parts you can have elephant rides. It is really worth and a total different adventure. |

![]() | Re: Elephant Trekking in Thailand Well I dont know how bad you have heard but surely you can enjoy a good ride. In India and Thailand at some places (not zoos) elephants are specially decorated to attract visitors and overall the elephants are also quite healthy. |

![]() | Re: Elephant Trekking in Thailand Yeh, the elephant I rode was clean and well presented, however the ride was just way too slow. For sure they are the slowest creatures on earth. Toooooo boring for me. Just don't expect too much if ever you take an elephant ride. |
