Teaching in China

My name is Michael. I am new to AAC and would like some advice. How do teaching in China and teaching in Japan compare? Also, what is the best way to go about finding a job in China? What about recruiters; are they a scam or are they legit?

Thanks,
Michael

Re: Teaching in China

Hourly pay rate / classrooms / facilities / student English abilities / class size numbers and all will differ between China and Japan. Remember that Japan is a way more developed country that China, hence the quality of life I believe to be much better.

Just take a look at Wikipedia for an insight into each of these countries.

You cannot call all recruiters a scam or all legit. It will depend on the recruiter.

Re: Teaching in China

Find a job in China is easy. Finding a good job is difficult. I cannot speak for how things work in Japan, but there is no real need for recruiters in China. Do your research on all schools that you apply to. Most universities do not advertise on boards like this when they need to fill a position--you need to look at some school web sites for openings. As for pay, it varies depending on what the job is and where. In a major city, you should get at least 8-10,000/mo. plus housing.
