![]() | Low requirements = Misleading Is it true you must slog your guts out in a university/collage for years, at great expense and get a bachelor of arts so you can be a English Teacher in china? I have read on a varity of websites that you have to and then on others that you don't. It is all a bit too confusing for me at this monment. My aspiration is to live in china for a year or so to further improve my study of Mandarin, I would like to be able to suport my living there. I enjoy Learning and beleave this would be a great experience, but I learn for fun and self improvement not as a career you have to pay for. Also I have noticed one website chinahomestay Which seems like a good idea that suits my needs is it possible to get financing to spread the initial cost over a period of time to make it more affordable. I hope my questions can be resolved all information and advice is welcome. ![]()

![]() | Re: Low requirements = Misleading To legally work in China on a Z visa with a foreign experts certificate, you need a university degree. However, there are plenty of ways around that. Many schools have the guanxi to get out of that requirement. Others will just fake a degree for you. There are also some cities that just don't care. |

![]() | Re: Low requirements = Misleading Whilst getting a tertiary education is expensive, if you look at the long-term picture, you will easily recou your tuition fees with a higher salary over the years. Don't discount the benefit of holding a Bachelor's degree. Over a life time, it is estimated a holder of a Bachelor's degree will earn approx. $1 million more than someone without.
