![]() | Well, what a hassle it was to go to China recently. I was only going there for a freakin holiday, and the amount of stuffing around. I had to go in the morning to apply for a tourist visa, and then wait for a few hours during lunch whilst the Consulate closed. I came back again in the afternoon to get my visa and 8000 yen later. Application fee is 4000 yen, and if you want it the same day, it's another 4000 yen. I figured it was worth it rather than making another separate trip and incurring more expenses. China only allows a few nationalities to enter without the need to apply a tourist visa. The visa also only lasts 30 days. I applied for my tourist visa from here in Osaka. Quick directions are take exit 4 at Honmachi station on the Midosuji line. As you exit, turn right and walk for about 20 minutes. It's there on your right hand side. Expect to see quite a few police always circling around the Chinese Consulate. You can see the image attached. Good luck all!
