![]() | Teaching in South Korea without a diploma Hi there I am taking up a teaching position in South Korea soon. I have an education degree and I am confident I will get it. On the other hand, my partner has a TESOL cert. and a diploma in mechanics, but no degree. Is it possible for him to legally teach in South Korea? It would be great if we could get a job together. Thanks, Casey

![]() | Re: Teaching in South Korea without a diploma Hi Casey I believe that you do need a degree to teach legally in Korea under the E2 visa requirements. I have found the Korean Consulate in Canberra very prompt and helpful in answering any questions about visas. You might to check if there is another type of visa you can travel on to allow your partner to work. Cheers Korean Embassy: Embassy of the Republic of Korea |

![]() | Re: Teaching in South Korea without a diploma Actually, a diploma to teach in Korea is quite necessary. Several years ago, many foreigners came to teach with fake diplomas. If this happens, you are kicked out of the country and there is a lot of trouble for the schools. A diploma is necessary in order for you to get your visa. |
