![]() | Teaching in Korea as a steping stone Hello, I was wondering if teaching a year in Korea would improve my chances in Japan. Also, what is the best way to go about finding a job in Korea? What areas are the best in regards to health, safety and other English teachers? Thanks, Michael |

![]() | Re: Teaching in Korea as a steping stone Korea has an absolute heap of recruiters all trying very hard to get teachers. As soon as you announce you are in town, they will be all over you. Your major problem will be trying to land the better jobs in town. Teaching in Korea would have no effect as to boosting your chances in Japan other than giving you teaching experience IN an Asian country. You would be heading to Japan with experience under your belt. Quote:
Why are you looking at Korea as a stepping stone only? It seems you prefer to teach elsewhere other than Korea.

As Margy said, Korea is a destination in itself and the only real value would be a year or two teaching experience, which you could probably quite easily get in Japan. In both countries you will need a Bachelor's Degree or better. A TESOL certificate is also very useful. Cheers. Last edited by gfell; Sun 07-Oct-07 at 10:51 PM.
