| Teaching in Korea Hey Guys Excuse my lack of knowledge on this topic, i was just wondering if someone could help me with a question i had. Is there ANY jobs avaliable to australians who have no experience in teaching or korean? I have heard of people here in Australia getting jobs in Japan without knowing japanese or having any teaching experience! I have not long finished high school (12 months ago) and all i want to do is live in korea! If anyone knows anything at all to point me in some direction i would greatly appreciate it !!! Thanks alot Scotty b |

![]() | Welcome Scotty! Korea is the same as Japan, ie. both countries have jobs for English teacher's without experience. However, you would first need to get yourself a university degree if teaching in Korea. Difficult to get a teaching job without a degree. In both Japan and Korea, you can get yourself a working holiday visa and teach easily enough. You don't need a degree in order to get a working holiday visa. There is no need to know the Japanese or Korean language when teaching in these countries. You will find that most schools in fact don't want you to speak anything other than English in the classroom. A Working Holiday Visa in Korea is open to those between 18 and 30 years old and who have a passport from:

![]() | ahhh Hey thanx for that ! i really appreciate your input because i don't really have a clue! I suppose the only problem would be that studying in korea would be really expensive because i would have to go to like university ? I really just wanted to go over for 12 months or so, but there doesn't seem to be a feasible option! i would love to study the korean language for 12 months over there! anyway lol i think i'm just confusing myself because i don't know where to start or where to look ! Thankyou very much for your time replying! i really do value it ! i'll have to keep looking at options and hope for the best! Thanx again! Scotty B |

![]() | Visas for Korea Scotty, there may also be some really CHEAP language schools in Korea that offer a student visa. This also may be an alternative for you.

![]() | Volunteering isn't always as simple as you may think. If you go over to Korea to teach as a volunteer, then your school will still be responsible for you even if they don't pay your wages. Eg: If you can't pay your rent, can't feed yourself, then the school will be the first ones you talk to. No-one wants to be put into this situation. That's why a lot of volunteer programs do in fact require a fee. See http://www.traveltree.co.uk/voluntee...h-in-korea.htm This fee then helps towards looking after you when in a foreign country with no income. Am sure there are still a few schools that are willing to employ you without a visa on a part-time basis... But it wont be an easy ride for you. Why don't you just go to Korea for 1 month holiday? See how the country is first? |

![]() | ah huh Yeah I never said it would be easy becoming a volunteer! And if there is a fee involved i would be willing to pay it! And I don't want to go to korea just for month because I did that in Japan earlier this year and regretted it! Its way to short! I can't see korea being drastically different to Japan. I don't want to be a tourist I want an experience! But thanks everyone for your input! I'll sus things out and if it works out it works out, if not there are other options! Take care everyone! Thanx again Scotty b |
