South Korea Work Permit For Indians

Hi every body

I am raj form india and basically i am a engineering post graduate .I have got an oppurtunity to work in Korea as application manager. I would like to know the time required by the company to get work permit for me.

Hello Raj! Congratulations on your successful posting to South Korea. Hope you will enjoy your time there.

The length of time it takes to receive your work permit will largely depend on the Korean Embassy or Consulate you apply to in your home country. You can only apply for these work visas when abroad and they CANNOT be applied for from within South Korea.

I would suggest contacting your local Korean Embassy or Consulate to be certain of the time frame required.

As a rule of thumb, allow up to 2 weeks.

Thank you for the reply.But i did not get the point " You can only apply for these work visas when abroad ".

But it is the formality of the company to get work permit from KOREAN EMBASSY which will only will be allowing to work in korea , right.

And after getting korean work permit or clearance i also have to contact the local embassy in india

Hi Raj,

Your company will prepare all the paperwork for you, and then you need to submit this paperwork to your local Korean Embassy or Consulate in India.

Not sure what you mean. You are only applying for a work visa to work in South Korea right?

You need to submit your visa application outside of Korea.

yes. i am applying for the work pemrit.I am worried of getting the permit .
as for as i came to know from my friends and websites , getting work permit in korea is difficult .

You need to apply for your work permit from a consulate outside of Korea.

If your company supports you and wants you to work in Korea, then get their paperwork to begin the visa application process from within India. You cannot apply for the visa in Korea.

Thanks for the reply. but the link which i have sent to you shows
that korean work permit from KOREAN GOVERNMENT is mandatorily required
whicle appearing for the VISA to the local office in india.

and my exact question is, can i get work permit quickly from korean goverment ? ( i.e whether my appilcation will be approved easily or not)

That is something only the Korean Consulate can answer based on a number of factors:

• your skills and demand for these skills
• size of company employing you and type of company
• contract between you and the company
• etc...

Hence, alow up to 2 weeks for your local Korean Consulate to process your application.
