![]() | Hi, Im planning on coming to Korea in Sept to teach English and really need some advice on which areas are the best to teach in. Im totally confused at the minute. The recruitment agencies i have been reading up on ask for my top 3 places i would like to teach in and I havent the foggiest where to start looking. I don't want anywhere too quiet or where there wouldn't be many people I could mix with (esp for my 1st placement). I'd like a busy social life as well as just working, somwhere active and with good transport out of the city. Busan or Ulsan have cropped up in a few discussions. Ahhh im so confused. Any good experiences of places would really help with my search. THanks Last edited by gfell; Wed 17-May-06 at 01:01 PM. |

| ESL Rookie ![]() | any of the major cities would be fine - though i would suggest the triangle of Incheon/Suwon/Seoul. Or a city along the KTX line, including Busan/Pusan. Seoul area would be your best bet, since its your time. Be aware though, Seoul is more expensive for food & entertainment. |

| ESL Rookie ![]() | had a friend teach there - said it was great in the summer, but terribly boring in the winter remember it is a fairly small island and while its more tropical than the rest of Korea I doubt you will be sunbathing on the beach in December. It's not cheap to get from the island to the mainland (by plane) and can be very difficult to get a seat during peak periods (which is when you get your vacation!), so reckon on staying on the island. all depends on what suits you And yes, there is a fair number of teaching jobs there. |
