![]() | What do I need to bring? Hey it's me again! So, I'll be off to Japan once my VISA and all other admin stuff is done. Just wondering, what things would I need to bring over from Australia? Like for example, I was told I'll need to bring deodorant from Australia, can't remember why though. And probably some common household medication as the ones they sell over there aren't as strong/effective? What other things would be recommended? Also, what about clothing? I heard Japan doesn't get anywhere near as hot as Australia. Most of the clothing I can buy once I'm over there, but given that I'm arriving around march-april, what kind of weather should I expect? Thanks a lot in advance! ![]() |

![]() | Everytime I go back and forth between Japan and Australia, I always take back to Japan with me the following:
I'm 185cm and 87kg. A solid build so I can never really buy clothes in Japan. Even if I go for the extra large jeans, they still don't really get around my waste properly. The largest shoe size in Japan in 28.5cm, and my feet are 30cm. So there again, I need to buy my shoes in Oz. Chocolate - I love a big block of chocolate from my local Aldi store in Oz. Chocolate in Japan is ¥100~¥180 for a few bites. Salami, once again I buy this at Aldi. It lasts a few months which is great. The only cereals Japan has are heavily sugared ones. Mornings I'm also fighting against time, so a nice bowl of cereal is perfect. Beats waking up to eat fish for breakfast.

![]() | Re: What do I need to bring? Definitely agree with bringing cereals, dental floss and clothing. I'm not tall (178cm), but it was always difficult to find clothing that fits well around the shoulders and legs. If you'd like to bring anything Australian over for small gifts, my Japanese friends love your beef jerkey. |

![]() | Re: What do I need to bring? Problems of cereal is that the boxes they are in are so damn huge! Deodorant and dental floss is a good idea. I was fortunate to find a local foreign liquor shop and they stock cornflakes from Italy. Tastes great and cheap too. But the typical cereals in the supermarkets are coated in sooooo much sugar it's not funny.
