![]() | Looking for a summer teaching job Greetings Forum, I'm an American graduate student looking to go to japan for the summer and teach English. I know that most of the job postings are for year long positions, but I'm still in school and can't go for that long. I speak functional Japanese and can read at about a 6th grade level... Is there anything out there that i could do for the summer in japan? thanks, Virmaior |

![]() | Re: Looking for a summer teaching job Very unlikely. Visa authorities only issue a minimum 1 year working visa. So no school would really take you only if you plan to work only for the summer. Best to go to Japan when you can commit to a minimum 1 year. |

![]() | Re: Looking for a summer teaching job Thanks for the information. Well shikata ga nai ... i can't possibly stay for a year right now, and it looks like schools won't offer jobs for less of a period of time than that. |
