Vacancies for September 2008 in Kuwait

A'Takamul International School in Kuwait is a well-established American curriculum K-12 school. Presently, we are looking to fill the following vacancies for September 2008:
a Middle and High School Principal

- MS & HS teachers for Social Studies and ICT.
- a MS Art Teacher
- a HS Business Math teacher
- KG teachers

Candidates who can offer more than one subject are encouraged to apply. Additionally, candidates who are presently residing in Kuwait and are interested in part time positions are welcome.

Ideal candidates will be western qualified Muslim teachers who have an excellent command of the English language.

All candidates - especially from grades 6 to 12 - should be willing to work as much as possible as part of an integrated cross-curricular team, which incorporates technology and focuses on project based learning and outcomes. If you do not have this type of teaching experience then a willingness to be part of it is essential. Conversely, if your usual approach is to teach from the textbook and get students to answer the questions at the end of each chapter or section or if you think this type of learning is academically valid and justified, or if you think that the textbook IS the curriculum, then please just disregard this advertisement.

Experience working in an ESL environment is essential.

For applicants who are not Muslims, an appreciation and sensitivity of Islamic and Arab culture is absolutely essential. This specifically means we are looking for applicants who are open-minded about working in another culture and prepared for what that means.
