![]() | Seeking Native English-Speaking Child Care Professionals for Bilingual Nursery Be a part of the Halle/Saale’s first public bilingual English/German nursery and preschool. We are looking for dedicated and motivated new staff members who are secure with the concepts of self-directed learning and emergent curriculum planning to take responsibility for daily life at the day care center. Located near the city center, the facility is currently being renovated to best suit the children’s needs and will be open on weekdays from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Child care professionals spend 30 hours a week with children between the ages of 0 and 6. The center is owned and operated by the municipal enterprise for day care (Eigenbetrieb Kindertagesstätten) in Halle/Saale Germany, the city’s largest provider of day care for children between the ages of 0 and 14, servicing the community together with over 560 qualified staff members at 50 separate locations. We are looking to fill several positions for native English-speaking nursery and preschool teachers starting May 2010. Requirements You… - are a native or near-native English-speaker with excellent communication skills. - are fluent in German, or willing to undergo intensive language training. - have a degree/certificate in Early Childhood Education (or an equivalent) or are willing to take part in a 3 year part-time certification program while working. - have experience working as an early years teacher or with young children.
