Secondary (Grade 7-8) Science/Math teacher needed

Bright Future International Training & Services (BFITS), an educational organization which provides primary and secondary academic programs to private and government schools in Thailand, seeks to hire motivated, ambitious, responsible BA/BS graduates with TEFL certification who are interested in professional development, cultural exchange and travel. We are a very academically-oriented and dedicated company. We highlight the importance of integrating technology into our classrooms, and all classrooms are equipped with white boards, air conditioning, and LCD projectors to help each and every student become involved in learning.

Position Description

Secondary Grade 7-8 Teacher to teach 15 hours a week to include: Science Grade 7 x5 hours, Science Grade 8 x5 hours, Algebra x5 hours. This school is located in the suburbs of Bangkok near the new Suvharnabhumi Airport. This is a Thai public school situated on a large campus. Class sizes are 20 (Grade 7) and 29 (Grade 8) students. This position will be best suited for a more laid back personality with strong academic qualifications.

Benefits:
• 38,000 baht salary per month plus 500 baht per hour over 80 teaching hours /monthly
• 12 month contract that can be extended for additional years and additional benefits.
• End of Contract bonus up to 25,000 baht increasing to 30,000 baht with additional years.
• Guaranteed yearly 3% cost of living pay increase minimum.
• BUPA medical insurance paid.
• 1-2 weeks paid vacation (additional week for each additional year of employment up to 4 weeks).
• 2-4 Paid personal/sick days
• All Thai government holidays off with pay (13-15 days annually)
• Assistance in obtaining a Non-B visa (Teacher must provide proper documentation).
• Visa extension, work permit, and teacher’s license paid by BFITS.
• Yearly professional development training provided for free during school breaks. Topics of training based on teacher requests and needs.
• Required "Thai Culture Course" for Work Permit/Visa is paid by company.
• Western Management.

Working Conditions:
• Teaching hours range from 15-18 hours a week.
• Class sizes range from 25-35 students per class.
• School hours are approximately 08.00-15.30 Monday to Friday.
• A Thai coordinator is assigned to the school to assist you with program maintenance, copies, etc.
• Teachers’ office is outfitted by BFITS with printer/scanner/copier for teachers use and private wireless internet connection for our teachers.
• Classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with LCDs to display educational media.
• Curriculum, lesson plans and sample power point lessons provided to teachers.
• All teaching materials (US McGraw-Hill series) are supplied by BFITS: A notebook computer is issued to the teacher that contains all teaching materials, black line masters, ExamView test generating software, student books, and teacher’s editions.

Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned subjects to assigned classes as per schedule provided.
• Adapt and deliver lessons from PowerPoint presentations (McGraw Hill Interactive Whiteboard PowerPoint Presentations provided).
• Modify and adapt lessons to meet the needs of your class.
• Assign and grade class/home work and tests for content mastery.
• Utilize our online office management system for grading and student management.
• Maintain weekly office hours.
• Attend office meetings or professional development held during office hours (if needed).
