Looking for a Corporate Academic Manager - Vietnam

Rapidly expanding English Language School looking for a Corporate Academic Manager.

Duties

• Liaison with & reporting to the Senior Director of Studies on all administrative, personnel, pedagogical and contractual matters and on other issues as appropriate
• Attend regular Head of Department meetings to be informed and aware of developments within the organization.
• Pro-actively input ideas and suggestions to management as appropriate.
• Academic Programs Management / Development and Courses Delivery
• Interacting pro-actively with Academic and other departments on any academic related activity
• Pro-active and on-going assessment of existing LLV corporate training programs, making suggestions for upgrades, and ability to plan and implement the upgrades within a scheduled framework.
• Academic management of successful delivery programs, development of teacher support (e.g. systems, training, workshops, mentoring, pacing guides, etc.) to enable excellent classroom practice and demonstrable positive outcomes for corporate students.
• Coordinate potential ESP programmes in conjunction with ESP course designer/s.
• Establish teaching procedures/guidelines for all corporate teachers as it relates to preparing and delivering English lessons to corporate clients (e.g. includes writing)

Teacher Management & Teacher Development

• In coordination with Academic Management Board be responsible for management of corporate teachers, including a teaching review/observation system, training/workshops, etc.
• Provide guidance on academic supporting system including supervision of academic non-teaching staff
• Be involved in development and implementation of teacher development program ensuring high teaching quality and teaching professionalism.
• Assist in recruiting and retaining teachers, in coordination with HR and other Directors of Studies. This includes tasks such as interviewing teachers, supporting their teaching, and helping create an environment in which teachers are comfortable and able to develop professionally.

Business Development and Others

• Occasional involvement in Public Relations & Promotions (in coordination with other departments e.g. Marketing, Corporate Sales, Admissions).
• Occasional involvement in key client meetings with sales people; assisting with English training proposals when needed.

Teaching and Placement Testing Duties

• Minimum 12 contact teaching hours per week, when required
• Student Placement Tests (seasonal, can be as much as 8 hours a week) May need to cover key classes if urgent.

Additional Language Link Projects

• Deriving from discussions and mutual agreement with CLD, the Employee will from time to time be given responsibility for projects deemed important to the development of Language Link Vietnam.

• Pro-actively input ideas and suggestions to management when appropriate.
