| over 4000 teachers and students at the school Teach in the “Bamboo Capital of China”. A small town (by Chinese standards) of 1.3 million, Anji is surrounded by bamboo covered mountains with lots of opportunity for local travel... bike rides, hiking and visiting ecologically protected areas nearby. And when you need the big city night life or great shopping, Hangzhou and Shanghai are short bus rides away. The Hangzhou airport provides air travel to the rest of China. Anji Shangshu Private High School (ASPHS)was founded in 1984 and is the first private high school in New China since 1949. ASPHS has enjoyed great prestige during the past 24 years as the school, administrators and teachers have been recognized by central and local leaders, in addition to winning various awards and being reported about in many publications and on TV. At present, there are over 4000 teachers and students at the school. ASPHS is located at the foot of Lingfeng Mountain and beside Tiaoxi River, with the campus covering a large area with its modern buildings, beautiful gardens and water features. The spacious classrooms are well-equipped and the teachers’ offices are equipped with large private desks, air-conditioners, telephones and computers with internet line. The school has 600 computers connected to the internet, a multi-media room with advanced modern equipment, language labs with total 594 seats, a piano room, 2 lecture halls, an international standardized 400-meter sports ground and football ground. The school is provided with IC Telephone, 2 clinics, shower rooms and shops for staff and students convenience. A pre-paid personal card for purchases is provided and is used both in shops and the canteen for convenience and safety. There are more than 400 in-service teachers. Included in this number are 11 foreign teachers, 7 from Japan, 3 from the USA and 1 from Germany. The school management has an open-door policy and is reliable in all administrative and staffing matters. There are 2 types of students, regular and vocational high school students from the age of 16 to 20. Zhejiang Yuxiang Foreign Languages College (ZYFLC) is also a major presence, having been opened in 2002, currently with 1500 students and 190 working staff including foreign teachers. Currently, ASPHS needs 2 native English teachers for its high schools, 1 native English teacher for the college and 1 native German teacher for high school. 18 academic hours (45 minutes) per week Contract period September 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 Teach English to English Majors, Japanese Majors, and German Majors; Teach German to German Majors Required
