About TSL

TSL is a British run language school in Southeast China. We have a great deal of experience in introducing teachers to life in China and offer an excellent start for teachers beginning their TEFL career. Teachers with a year or more experience may join us to take on more senior roles mentoring and/or training less experienced teachers.

We specialise in small classes (6-8 Students per class) and provide full training and excellent resources. We work five days with around 18 lessons per week.

The majority of children are of primary school age (6-13 in China), although we also teach a significant number of teenagers and kindergarten students. Class sizes are kept very small with students grouped according to age and level of English. All teachers have their own classroom and all lessons are taught on site. This is very unusual for a private language school in China and a considerable perk for teachers at the school.

The emphasis is on motivating students and making the learning of English an enjoyable experience. We use British syllabuses full of fun, lively ideas to bring English to life. We adopt a task based approach that concentrates on communication and cooperative learning styles. You will be provided with full training on arrival, and continued support and feedback during your time with us. We start new teachers on a reduced timetable to allow plenty of time for observing more experienced teachers.

There is a fantastic relationship between the foreign and Chinese members of staff and a buzzing work atmosphere. Many teachers stay on to renew their contracts and there is a strong emphasis on professional development.

About the area

Huizhou itself is a really lovely city built around lakes. The surrounding countryside is easily accessible with nearby beaches that are really very beautiful. The city is large enough to contain basic modern commodities and have a good nightlife but small enough to retain a strong community feel.

Required

• Native English Speaker
• Real desire to teach children
• Enthusiasm patience and willingness to learn
• University degree in any subject

TEFL and experience working with children preferred.
