A well-known and a very reputable school is urgently seeking full-time children’s English teacher to start IMMEDIATELY. You don’t need to have much experience, but you must have the heart and the passion for teaching kids.

Location:

Judong has a population of about 80,000 people. It is a township located in the northern part of Taiwan close to the west coast. It is about 40 miles away from Taipei, Taiwan’s capital. The nearest big city, Hsinchu, which is located on the west coast, is a only thirty-minute bus ride away. The mass-transportation is fairly convenient.

Twenty minutes drive from the town is the famous Science Park, an area similar to the Silicon Valley in USA. Many people in the town work for the computer factories/companies in the Science Park.

The town is very pretty and green. There is a river along the northern part of Judong, and the southern part is surrounded by mountains. Lots of places to explore!

Some of the nation’s top universities, such as Ching Hwa and Jiao Tung, where you can take Chinese classes, are about twenty-minute bus ride away.

Most of the towns in Taiwan are safe. You can walk anywhere in the town at 12:00 midnight without being disturbed at all.

The weather in Judong is mild all year round. It is between 26 to 34 degree Celsius in the summer and 15 to 25 degree in the winter. The temperature hardly gets below 15 degree. However, sweaters and jackets are necessary for winter because when there are cold currents coming from the North-Eastern Asia, the temperature could be around 10 degree and most of the buildings do not have a heating system. It is humid in the summer but don’t worry, the school is air-conditioned.

Terms:

(Average Monthly Take-home: 62000NT /mo.)
Base Salary: 53000NT /mo.
Attendance Bonus: 2000NT /mo.
Extra Pay for Elementary Classes: around 7200NT /mo.
End of Semester Bonus: 5000NT /semester
Contract Completion Bonus: 30,000NT (which means you basically get your flight reimbursed!)

Accommodation:

School will give a housing subsidy of 3000NT per month. This means, you will pay very little, usually less than 10% of your monthly salary on rent! Don’t worry; the apartment will be conveniently located walking-distance away from the school.

They use North-American ESL textbooks and do lots of activity-based learning…fun!

Training:

All teachers will undergo curriculum and culture training at the headquarter office before starting their job (perfect for newbie teachers!) Experience is preferred but not required.

All and all I would say that this is one of the best places to work. They are very organized and understanding of foreign teachers' needs. The teaching material is comprehensive and easy to follow...you do not need to make up your own lessons! I have many happy teachers working for them and can give you reference upon request.
