Full-time ESL/EFL instructors needed in Chiba

Start: end of August, 2008

Teach English communication skills to all ages at a private language school in Chiba (Chiba Prefecture), a city of nearly 870,000 in Honshu near Tokyo. Mostly small classes, but bigger university classes, too. Must enjoy working with children. University graduate with TEFL/TESL experience preferred. 1-year contract (2-year contract renewable).

JOB DUTIES: Up to 160 hours of teaching, curriculum and materials development, meetings, and workshops per month. (Up to 120 teaching hours per month)

SALARY: 260,000~270,000 yen/month for first year of contract. 2,500 yen/hour for over time.

PAID VACATION TIME: In addition to Japanese national holidays (except a few days a year), 7 days in August, 12~13 days at Christmas/New Years, 7~8 days in other time all with full pay.

OTHER BENEFITS: Airfare allowance, 50,000 yen will be paid. Finishing bonus, 30,000 yen will be paid upon completion of one-year contract. Apartment provided (Teacher pays monthly payment (about 56,000 yen) and utility bills and a lease fee of 4,000 yen per month for the furnishings.) The school will pay the initial deposits. Two branches of the school and main school locate only one minute on foot from the train station. Chiba city is closer to beautiful beaches and Tokyo, Narita Airport. The owner of this school is a good educator in Chiba area for a long time.
