About Us Immanuel Education Center was founded in 1970 by Mr Masahiro Gohda, a Japanese Christian man who is the principal of the school. The school was founded for the purposes of helping students achieve better grades in elementary, junior high school and high school as well as sharing with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Students come to our school in the afternoons and evenings for extra tuition. Immanuel Education Center has classes for virtually all their school subjects. In addition, we also give students the chance to study English conversation from a native English speaker. About Tatsuno Tatsuno is located about one hundred kilometers to the west of Osaka. It has a population of 80,000 people. It is surrounded by luscious mountains which offer plenty of opportunities for hiking. It is famous, among other things, for somen noodle making factories. About Himeji Himeji lies twenty kilometers from Tatsuno in the direction of Osaka. It is a reasonably big city with a population of 600,000 people. It is well known throughout Japan for Himeji castle, which is recognized to be the biggest and according to many, the most beautiful castle in Japan. OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR TEACHERS Going to work in a foreign country can be quite daunting if you do not know the language, the customs and perhaps may not have had much teaching experience. However, at Immanuel we will do our utmost to help you settle into your new surroundings and enjoy your new life in Japan. The teacher whom you will be replacing will spend at least two weeks with you to introduce you to all your students and to train you. Mr Gohda and his son who speak English well will also be as much assistance to you as they can. Japanese people, though somewhat shy, are pleasant and polite and we are sure that if you do come to Immanuel you will make lots of wonderful friends. The Japanese language is very different from English, but in order to manage well in Japan, you do not have to speak it brilliantly. Teaching English in Japan is a really, really enjoyable experience. What makes it most rewarding above all are the people you teach whom you get to know not only as students but also as friends you can share good things with.
