Tips for breaking slang habits

I'm teaching English to chinese kids who know a bit, but their slang is terrible. Sometimes, I find myself using their slang.

What has worked for me so far is to make them watch news clips. That makes them realise what they're doing wrong. Still, it's a big struggle.

News clipps are great idea. Also most people learn by example, so if you are not using slang, then they will start to model you in their speach.
