![]() | Teaching Demo I've never taught English before so was wondering what is involved in a teaching demo? I have to give one on Monday. Do I do this in front of the students I wonder? The school told me it will be a 30 minute teaching demo. That's all I know. ![]() |

![]() | Welcome Cool Ice! Usually the teaching demo will consist of you holding a mock class in front of the staff. I doubt very much you will be required to teach in front of a class of students. Main things to keep in mind is speak slowly, clearly and with lots of body language. Choose simple words and try to involve the demo students with simple questions. A bit of humour also helps. Be sure not to speak too much. The idea of teaching English is to also give the students a chance to speak. A few diagrams or sample sentences on the whiteboard would also be great. Try to relax and not tense up.

![]() | Why don't you ask the school what the teaching demo involves? Don't be afraid to ask as every teacher goes into a class with knowing what to expect. |
