![]() | Dr Seuss and Disney Hi everyone, wondering if any of you ever tried using Dr Seuss and Disney children books for teaching. They work great, the characters are vivid and colourful, young children love them and it's even better with audio tapes, they would repeat after them for ages =D Fun and interesting way to engage young students. |

![]() | Re: Dr Seuss and Disney Yep, good suggestion, however not that easy to adapt them to the ESL classroom. I remember I loved these books as a kid. I have used Disney books for my students. Age group is 8~10 year olds. Using these books wasn't as easy as I thought. Some of the books are too hard though as there is too much text on the page. Choose only books with a few sentences at MOST per page. You have to remember that your student's vocabulary is very limited. Disney and Dr Seuss books are mainly geared to native English speakers, so the words used are found in daily conversation. Many of these words, non-native English learners will not know. Give it a try by all means, however don't expect a huge success with them. |
