![]() | Class sizes???/ Hello, Can you please tell me what size classes are most of you teaching and to what ages and levels? I'm teaching kids with about 24 in one of my beginner class and 8 in another kid beginner. I have an intermediate class with about 8-10 students mostly teenagers. And my last class is about 12 beginner adults and teenagers. I'm curious to know what others are teaching. Thanks. Amy |

![]() | Re: Class sizes???/ I'm teaching children and adults. Beaver class: 5 students and 3 teachers! Me, a Japanese piano teacher and a Japanese teacher. It's actually more of a childcare class where the students learn manner, behaviour, how to use scissors and so on. A lot of fun. Age: 3~4 years old Children classes: Class size: 1~4 Age: 5~15 Business classes: Class size: 5~15 Senior Citizens classes: Class size: 3~6 Overall, the class sizes are rather small I think compared to places like China. I'm teaching in Japan. |

![]() | Re: Class sizes???/ I teach classes of max 5. The classroom can't really fit in anymore students than that. The kids are well behaved and anymore in the class would take the "English conversation" flavour out of the classroom.

![]() | Re: Class sizes???/ Currently I'm not teaching! Looking for my next job. Just finished teaching young adults (20~25 y/o average age). Was a lot of fun and their English level was already quite decent. About 10 in the class. Such a positive group and a pity to see those classes finished. |

![]() | Re: Class sizes???/ At the moment I am teaching in the elementary school system in Korea. We have a mere 40 students per class. Although, I'm sure some in China would be envious. All jokes aside though, it's far too many in a class. There is very little chance of helping a majority of students. |

![]() | Re: Class sizes???/ I teach graduate students. It's supposed to be a lecture, so the classes are about 27-30 (but my PhD class is 22). Before this I had small classes at a language center for adults (max. 12 per class). And before that I taught little kids (18-22 per class). I like the small classes for teaching topics and getting students to speak. For lectures it's fine to have large classes... as long as my voice doesn't give out. |

![]() | Re: Class sizes???/ I am happy to join this forum. I am a teacher of English and as well as a director of an English school in Vietnam. I think the ideal size of a class is just about 10 - 15 students because the students should have time to talk, to express and share their ideas with others. If the class with less than 10 students is a little boring, the students feel lonely so they don't want to talk.Benny email: eslschool2007@yahoo.com |
