![]() | Hi everyone, This my first post. I have replied to several ads through this site and have read the horror stories. I just want to get into the loop. Can anyone tell me about either Sky English based in Taiwan, or Footprints in China but based in Canada ![]() Last edited by gfell; Fri 05-May-06 at 10:41 AM. |

![]() | Sky English seems ok Just did a quick search on "Sky English" scam. Looks all good. No bad press whatsoever. After being in the ESL industry a while, I haven't heard much about Sky English. Probably because they are only new to the game. Not much information out there on them.

![]() | Seems like a different kettle of fish. Footprints Recruiting tries to do a good job, but it's business evolves around placing teachers in outsourced schools. Hence, Footprints Recruiting can only try it's best to look after teachers, but ultimately, the school where the teacher is placed decides the quality of employment. If you use a recruiter, try to get some feedback on the school and testimonials of current and past teachers that have taught at that school.

![]() | Re: Sky English in Taiwan and Footprints Recruiting in China Hi I think this may or less also depends on your own backgrounds and your career goals. I checked up Footprints Recruiting and it looks pretty promising, and like what Antonio said, you could try getting feedbacks from previous teachers, those would be very invaluable in determining whether that particular school has the kind of environment you desire. |

Might pay to check if the contract is with them, or the school in which they place you. If it's the latter, but you have a contract with Footprints, it might spell trouble as one hand, usually, doesn't know what the other is doing here in China. Might also pay to get a commitment to a school out of them before you do anything. Find out which school you'll be going to. Then ask around for previous teachers at that school to find out what conditions exist/existed there in their time. Maybe someone here has worked in whichever school they'll place you too, so come back and ask once you have a firm placement. Best of luck to you! ![]() |
